Paris (VNA) - The Czech Veterinary Office announced that the country's fourth case of bird flu was detected by the National Veterinary Laboratories at Prague-Suchdol on March 31.

The H5 strain of the virus was detected in a dead swan found at Ceske Budejovice, around 160 kilometres south of Prague, a spokesman for the office, Josef Duben, was quoted by AFP as saying.

A sample has been sent to the European Union Laboratory at Weybridge, Britain, for further tests, he added.
